A damaged tooth is neither a pretty sight nor a comfortable experience. Tooth damage ruins your aesthetics and diminishes your chewing and biting ability. Dental crowns in Seattle, Washington, are an excellent solution to help you regain your fully functional smile. Dental crowns from A Dental & Denture look natural and last long with proper maintenance. Schedule an appointment to rediscover your new smile with dental crowns.
A dental crown covers the visible portion of the tooth to rebuild its shape and size. It strengthens your tooth and protects it from further damage. Although it’s tiny, a dental crown has numerous uses in dentistry.
Some include:
Our dental crowns are carefully crafted to match your natural teeth’ color, texture, and shape, providing a seamless blend with your smile. Once placed, the crown restores the tooth’s strength, allowing it to function like a natural tooth. With a crown, you regain the durability needed to enjoy your favorite foods and the confidence of a fully restored smile.
Placing a dental crown needs at least two dental appointments. The first appointment is a consultation to establish your eligibility for a crown. If so, the dentist reshapes the enamel to accommodate a dental crown. Before this procedure, the dentist numbs your gums with local anesthetics to ensure minimal pain during treatment.Â
Next, we take digital scans of your teeth and send the records to our partner lab to custom-create your restoration. Until your restoration is ready, the dentist protects your prepped teeth with a temporary dental crown.Â
The next appointment is to place your permanent dental crown. The dentist will inspect the fit and appearance of your crown. A few adjustments may be necessary to ensure your restoration fits the exact specifications of your tooth. The final step is to secure your crown to your tooth with permanent dental adhesives.Â
Dental crowns are permanent, so they are cared for like natural teeth. This means brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily to remove plaque between the teeth, and using mouthwash to eliminate harmful bacteria. Avoid sticky, hard foods to prevent undue stress on the crown. Adhere to regular dental check-ups to allow your dentist to monitor the crown’s condition and ensure it remains secure and damage-free. Dental crowns provide lasting durability and function like natural teeth with proper care.
