Invisalign in Seattle, Washington, offers a discreet, convenient way to straighten teeth. Unlike metal braces, Invisalign aligns your teeth with clear, removable aligners, perfecting your smile with style and minimal hassle. But what if you lose or damage your aligner? Don’t panic! A Dental & Denture is here to guide you through any hiccups for a seamless orthodontic experience.
Clear aligners apply gentle, consistent pressure to your teeth, guiding them intoย a healthier, straighter positionย over time.ย Your treatment involves 18-30 aligners, depending on the complexity of your orthodontic issue.ย Each set of traysย differs slightlyย from the last, creatingย step-by-stepย progress toward your ideal smile.ย
Typically,ย you’llย wear each aligner for 7-10 daysย before advancing to the next in the series. Since the treatment depends on this carefully timed sequence, losing or breaking an aligner can disrupt your progress.ย That’sย why properย alignerย careย is key to ensuring a smooth and successful outcome.
If you lose or break your clear aligner,ย it’sย not the end of the worldโit happens more often than you’d think. The first step is to contact your dentist or orthodontistย immediately for guidance.ย Sometimes,ย we may advise you toย wear your previous set of aligners to prevent your teeth from shifting.ย This is whyย it’sย essentialย to keep previous aligners as backup for damaged or lost aligners.ย If you were close to switching to the next set, your provider may instruct you to move forward instead.ย
Avoidย repairingย a broken aligner alone, as it could alter the fit and compromise your treatment. Acting quickly ensures you stay on track with your clear aligner journey.ย
Prevention is always better than a cure.ย Here are steps to prevent breaking or losing your teeth straighteners.ย
Skipping wearing your alignersย because of damage or lossย can be a significant setback in your treatment.ย However, prompt action canย help you get back on track quickly.ย
